Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is lined up for a strong Week 3 performance. Ertz leads all tight ends with 23 targets through the first two weeks. Although he was certainly Nick Foles' favorite target, he also was a top-10 tight end in 9-of-11 Wentz starts last season. While he may see one or two fewer targets without Foles on the field, the benefit from a presumed stronger offense overall outweighs the it. Ertz is currently ranked as the TE3 for the week, but no one would be surprised to see him finish as the top option.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz led the Eagles in targets in Week 2, catching 11 of 13 for 94 yards. Any time Nick Foles is the quarterback, Ertz is a safe bet to be in double-digits in terms of targets. There's a chance Carson Wentz (knee) will return next week, and while Wentz may spread the ball around more, he'll make the Philly offense better overall. Ertz is a locked-in TE1 and should finish in the top-five of tight ends more weeks than not.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is still a starting option in Week 2 despite facing off against the Tampa Bay Bucs defense. The Bucs defense has struggled against running backs and wide receivers, but has actually defended opposing tight ends extremely well, allowing the fewest points to tight ends since the beginning of last season. Still, Ertz has been the most targeted player on the Eagles whenever Nick Foles starts, so you can still expect a decent number of catches. Ertz remains a TE1 as usual, but he may not have the upside this week that his owners are used to.
