Indianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron expects to be the Zach Ertz of a reformed offense under newly hired Colts head coach and former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich. "He's done great things with tight ends," Ebron said, "I think he's brought me in here to be that ... effective player for him." Reich scripted the game plans for Pro Bowler Ertz and backup tight end Trey Burton, who just signed a fresh contract with the Chicago Bears. Although Ebron's lofty expectations have the potential to be buried behind the Colts two dominant playmakers in T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle, a healthy Andrew Luck has certainly supported a two-tight end system in the past.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has agreed to restructure his contract. $7.21 million of Ertz's salary was converted into a roster bonus. Without changing how much money Ertz will make, this move saves the Eagles $5.407 million in salary cap space. They'll likely need to keep getting creative with restructures and new free-agent contracts in order to stay under the cap. Ertz will of course again be one of the top fantasy tight ends in 2018.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz caught seven of his nine targets in the Super Bowl, gaining 67 yards and scoring a touchdown. Ertz continually gained enough yards to move the chains and eventually scored a huge 11-yard touchdown. Ertz is an unquestioned TE1 in fantasy, and a top-three player at his position along with Travis Kelce and tonight's opponent, Rob Gronkowski.
