Justin Hunter News
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Justin Hunter (shoulder), who was injured on Sunday night against the Chargers, is headed to season-ending Injured Reserve, according to a source. The team will wait a week before re-evaluating him to see if he needs surgery. Hunter had just three catches on 13 targets for 21 yards in five games this year, so he wasn't fantasy relevant. It means that rookie James Washington and Ryan Switzer will battle for the No. 3 duties for the rest of the season. Running back Trey Edmunds was signed from the practice squad to replace Hunter on the roster.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Justin Hunter (shoulder) suffered an injury Sunday night against the Chargers and will not return. Hunter failed to reel in any of his three targets before his injury. With him out for the rest of the game and rookie James Washington a healthy scratch, Ryan Switzer will operate on three-receiver sets for the remainder of the contest.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Justin Hunter agreed on a one-year contract on Thursday. Hunter came to Pittsburgh as an unrestricted free agent before the 2017 season and played in seven games last season, catching four passes for 23 yards and a score. Hunter was a second-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2013 but never reached the potential he showed as a collegiate athlete. Hunter will serve as organizational depth for the Steelers, as he's no better than fourth on the depth chart at the wide receiver position.
