Andre Ellington News
Buccaneers running back Andre Ellington has carried the ball 10 times for just 24 yards and caught five passes for 20 yards throughout these past two preseason games. On top of disappointing yardage totals, he also fumbled away the ball on Friday against Miami. Ellington's disappointing showing thus far could play into whether he makes the team or not. However, his connection to Bruce Arians from his Cardinals days might give him some leeway. Ellington is not fantasy relevant this season outside of some extraordinary circumstances.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free-agent running back Andre Ellington to an undisclosed one-year deal on Tuesday. Ellington played almost five seasons under head coach Bruce Arians in their time with the Cardinals, so the two have familiarity. The sixth-round pick in 2013 was out of the league last year and carried the ball five times and caught six passes in two starts with the Texans in 2017. The Bucs will rebuild their backfield this offseason, but Ellington is unlikely to be a big part of it in 2019. His strength is in the passing game, but even then he won't be that attractive in PPR leagues unless an injury strikes ahead of him on the depth chart.
Houston Texans running back Andre Ellington was forced into action at wide receiver after Bruce Ellington and Braxton Miller left Sunday's loss to the Titans. Ellington finished the game with five catches for 56 yards. His role for Week 14 is currently unclear and will depend on what Texans players are active against San Francisco.
