Player News

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (back) is questionable for Week 1 of the 2018 season. Reports on Jernigan's back surgery surfaced this week, but this is the first report of him potentially missing any actual game time. The recovery period for his particular surgery is four to six months, making Jernigan a candidate to start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which would keep him out for the first six games. It will all depend on the speed at which he recovers, which should become more clear into training camp and the preseason.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan is recovering from back surgery to repair a herniated disc. He won't be able to participate in the offseason program and is questionable for training camp. Last season was his first in Philadelphia and the best of his career so far. He was rewarded with a four-year, $48 million extension in November. Jernigan should be fine for Week 1, but it is something to keep an eye on.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan signed a four-year, $48 million extension. The deal includes $26 million in fully guaranteed money. Jernigan was in his contract year, so the Eagles were quick to lock him up before he hit the open market. He was acquired from the Baltimore Ravens for just a swap of third-round position, but he's been excellent up front for the Eagles this year. It's just another piece of good news for the best team in the NFL so far this season.
