Pittsburgh Steelers beat reporter Ed Bouchette expects the team and kicker Chris Boswell to agree to a new long-term contract. The team tendered the restricted free agent at a second-round level this offseason and he will play the 2018 season on a one-year, $2.91 million contract. It appears likely that the two sides will hammer out a long-term extension before Boswell becomes an unrestricted free agent. Boswell should see plenty of scoring chances playing with an explosive Steelers offense.
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell has signed his second-round tender, worth $2.9 million for the 2018 season. Boswell was a restricted free agent but will remain with the Steelers at least through the 2018 season. There are reports that the team still wants to sign Boswell to a long-term deal. Boswell hit 35 of 38 field goal attempts in 2017 and should remain one of the busiest kickers in the league while playing for a high-powered Pittsburgh offense.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have given a second-round tender to kicker Chris Boswell, who is a restricted free agent. The tender will be worth just under $3 million as the two sides attempt to hammer out a long-term extension. The tender makes it extremely unlikely that an enemy team would sign Boswell to an offer sheet at the risk of losing a second-round pick for a kicker. That being said, Boswell will be free to negotiate with other teams in the meantime. Boswell hit 35 of 38 field goals for the Steelers in 2017. He should remain one of the top fantasy kickers playing for the high-powered Pittsburgh offense.
