Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Dee Ford is having a great year through five games after he had one sack, four quarterback hits and a hurry in the Week 5 win over the Jaguars. With Chris Jones and Justin Houston causing havoc up front, the Chiefs pass rush has quietly impressed even if their secondary is weak. If safety Eric Berry (heel) can ever return, he'd provide this defense with a big boost. On the season, Ford has 15 tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble, planting him firmly on the IDP map.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said linebacker Dee Ford (back) should be "ready to go" for the team's first training camp practice on Thursday. Ford played in just six games last year and ended the season on Injured Reserve. He did have a career-high 10 sacks in 2016, though, so a healthy and recovered Ford could make a huge difference for the KC defense.
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford (back) said he was feeling great and pain-free Monday for the first day of offseason workouts. He landed on Injured Reserve in 2017 after just six games due to a lingering back injury that required offseason surgery. Ford was vague about his expected participation for organized team activities, but he's expected to be fully healthy for training camp. Ford had a breakout in 2016 with 10 sacks, but he had just two sacks in his shortened 2017 season. KC's pass rush should be more fearsome with a healthy Ford in the mix, and he could be a sleeper in IDP leagues.
