Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and wide receiver DeSean Jackson have been working on improving the chemistry of their deep ball this offseason after head coach Dirk Koetter made it a point to highlight all the times Winston and Jackson failed to hook up on open deep throws in 2017. "Me and DeSean, we have spent a lot of time together this offseason whether it was on the phone, Facetime or even at his house," Winston said. "He will be in Tampa -- not necessarily in the building, sometimes -- so we're going to find times and slots where we can work outside of the facility to help build our connection." D-Jax caught just five passes of 20 yards or more last year and finished the season with 50 grabs for 668 yards and only three touchdowns, some of the lowest marks of his career. In two seasons in Washington with Kirk Cousins, Jackson had 26 passes of 20-plus yards, which was third most of any player in the NFL. While Cousins targeted Jackson 48 times on deep passes, Winston targeted him just 25 times on passes of 20-plus yards. With another year to work together, expect Winston and Jackson to be more efficient in their deep hookups. While Jackson is always better in standard-scoring formats than PPR ones, he should be able to improve on his numbers from last season, making him a potential value pick in drafts.

The Tampa Buccaneers picked up quarterback Jameis Winston's fifth-year option of $20.922 million on Tuesday. The option is guaranteed against injury. The first overall pick in 2015, Winston has been inconsistent and turnover-prone in his three years with the Bucs. He played in 13 games in 2017, completing a career-high 63.8 percent of his passes for 3,504 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. While Tampa could look to extend Winston before the 2018 season is up, next season could be a make-or-break year for him under center. Value him as a low-end QB1.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston was uninjured in a car accident last week in which he was cited for careless driving. The crash damaged both vehicles -- the citation listed $4,000 in total property damage, while the crash report listed $2,000 in damages to each car. Winston faces a $153 fine and no punishment from the NFL. While he was a disappointment in 2017, a lot of it had to do with a shoulder injury that forced him to miss a handful of games. With better health and continuity with the coaching staff in 2018, Winston owners will be hoping for the breakout to come.
