The Los Angeles Rams acquired defensive end Dante Fowler from the Jaguars on Tuesday, according to a source. Fowler was the third overall pick in the 2015 draft, but he's been mostly a bust for the Jags and has become a rotational pass-rusher. The Rams have more of a need for him, however, and Fowler could see more playing time moving forward. He has just eight tackles and two sacks in seven games for the Jaguars this year.
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler has been attracting serious interest as the Oct. 30 trade deadline approaches, according to sources. Fowler's price is high, but a lot of teams are looking for pass-rush help, including the Rams. Los Angeles has been the team most connected to Fowler, but several other teams could be pushing to land the 2015 first-round pick. Fowler has worn out his welcome in Jacksonville and has just eight tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in seven games this season, but he'll likely see much more of a role if he's traded.
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler (shoulder) was taken off the team's Physically Unable to Perform list, where he had been since training camp opened in July. Fowler practiced with the team on Saturday and could see playing time in the preseason, but he's been suspended for Jacksonville's first regular season game. In 2017, Fowler recorded eight sacks, but he was only on the field for 50 percent or more of Jacksonville's defensive plays in four games. He's a major boom-or-bust player in IDP leagues.
