Jordan Taylor News
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Taylor reportedly had the inside track for the third receiver role during organized team activities back in May, but he didn't show much of anything during the preseason and was released on Tuesday. As it stands, Chad Beebe, Olabisi Johnsonand Brandon Zylstra appear to be the preferred options at wide receiver behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. Laquon Treadwell, Dillon Mitchelland Jeff Badet are also still in the mix and are competing for a roster spot. Week 4 of the preseason should shed some light as to how this will all shake out in the end. Taylor could latch on with another team looking for some depth at wide receiver, but he would likely remain a fantasy non-factor.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Taylor has been working as the No. 3 wideout in spring practices. Taylor could be competing mainly with rookie Dillon Mitchell for the third spot behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs this year. The 27-year-old Taylor didn't play at all last year and has just 29 receptions for 351 yards and two touchdowns in his two seasons with the Broncos in 2016 and 2017. Even if he wins the No. 3 job in Minnesota, he won't be much of a consistent fantasy option, even in deeper leagues. Laquon Treadwell could also factor in.
The Minnesota Vikings are intrigued with the idea of wide receiver Jordan Taylor returning punts in 2019 to replace cornerback Marcus Sherels in the role. Taylor returned 11 punts for 103 yards (9.4 average) in 2017. There's a good chance that the 27-year-old makes more noise on special teams than he does in the offense in his first year in Minnesota. He sat out all of the 2018 season due to injury and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar.
