Deon Bush News
Free-agent safety Deon Bush agreed to re-sign with the Kansas City Chiefs on an undisclosed one-year deal, according to a source. Bush, previously a fourth-round selection by the Chicago Bears in 2016 out of Miami, recorded 11 tackles (six solo) in 16 games (zero starts) in 2022 in his first year in Kansas City. He spent the first six years of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears and posted 73 solo tackles, one sack, three interceptions, 10 passes defensed and a forced fumble in 79 games (12 starts). The 29-year-old isn't on the IDP fantasy radar, but he'll provide the Chiefs with quality secondary depth while also contributing on special teams.
Former Chicago Bears free-agent safety Deon Bush signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday, according to his agents. Bush had his best season in the NFL last year, recording a career-high 40 tackles (31 solo), two interceptions and five passes defensed in 14 games (four starts). The 28-year-old will give the Chiefs some more depth in the secondary, while also contributing on special teams. Bush was originally a fourth-round pick by the Bears in 2016 out of Miami. He has a total of 89 tackles (73 solo), three interceptions, one sack, 10 passes defensed and one forced fumble in 79 career games (12 starts) in his six seasons with the Bears.
The Chicago Bears placed defensive back Deon Bush (quadriceps) on Injured Reserve and linebacker Robert Quinn on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday. Bush was injured in the Week 6 loss to the division-rival Green Bay Packers and will now be forced to miss at least the next three games. The sixth-year pro has 15 tackles and two passes defensed through the first six games of the year. Safety Teez Tabor was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad as a result. Quinn has 5.5 sacks, 19 tackles and five tackles for loss so far in 2021, so Chicago's defensive line could be at less than full strength in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if he isn't cleared from the league's protocols this week.
