Antwaun Woods News
Free-agent defensive tackle Antwaun Woods inked a one-year deal with the Cardinals on Thursday. The 29-year-old has been in the league since 2016, suiting up for the Titans, Cowboys, and most recently, the Colts. During that span, he has compiled 88 total tackles and 2.5 sacks across 47 games. While Woods has a shot to see some playing time in Arizona this season, he probably won't do enough to benefit IDP managers.
The Indianapolis Colts are signing defensive tackle Antwaun Woods to their active roster on Tuesday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Woods was signed to the Colts practice squad before the Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans, but he was released last week. He'll now rejoin the team and provide defensive line depth at nose tackle. Woods, 28, recorded 23 tackles (seven solo), two QB hits and a sack in 14 games (seven starts) for the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. He played on just 18% of the defensive snaps and had one solo tackle in the Week 3 loss to the Titans. Woods will serve in a rotational role once again.
Former Dallas Cowboys starting defensive lineman Antwaun Woods signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. In a corresponding move, the Colts waived linebacker Anthony Butler. Woods was instrumental in the Cowboys defensive resurgence in the middle of last season when he moved into the starting lineup, but Dallas also added six defensive linemen since March. He should represent valuable defensive line depth for Indianapolis at the one-technique, nose tackle spot behind starter Grover Stewart. Woods is more of a run-stuffer than pass-rusher, and he'll be competing with the likes of Taylor Stallworth, Andrew Brown and Chris Williams for a roster spot.
