Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett (hernia) was able to participate fully in organized team activities. He had a sports hernia operation after the Super Bowl but is fully recovered and had no issues participating fully in voluntary OTA practices. He was a first-round pick last year and is expected to play an even bigger role this season. Last season, he graded out as the No. 37 4-3 defensive end, according to Pro Football Focus.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett underwent sports hernia surgery right after the Super Bowl. He's expected to be at 100 percent and will be completely ready to go for Week 1. Barnett had 21 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries his rookie year. He'll likely get more work this coming season as a member of a very strong defensive front.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Tennessee defensive end Derek Barnett with the No. 14 pick in the 2017 NFL draft. The 6-foot-3, 259-pounder broke Reggie White's school record with 33 sacks. He will help improve an already strong Philly defensive line in 2017. He has a great motor and strength at the point of contact and should be a very serviceable three-down lineman in the NFL.
