Chad Williams News
The Indianapolis Colts promoted wide receiver Chad Williams from the practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday to fill the spot of Chester Rogers (knee), who is on Injured Reserve. With T.Y. Hilton (calf) still hurting and tight end Eric Ebron (ankle) also out for the year, the Colts are in need of some receiving depth behind Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson and Ashton Dulin. Williams will be the No. 4 option if Hilton misses any more games, but he shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar in this run-first offense.
The Arizona Cardinals released wide receiver Chad Williams on Friday afternoon. The third-year man just never lived up to expectations as he was sitting behind rookie wide receivers Keesean Johnson and Andy Isabella on the team's depth chart. With the release of Johnson, look for the rookie duo to have some breathing room in regards to playing time. The former 98th overall pick in the 2017 draft is 25 and still has many years of playing time left if he can figure things out. Expect him to land on someones practice squad in the near future.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Chad Williams (lower body) was sidelined for the past week or so due to an undisclosed lower body ailment. He was able to return to the practice field on Monday. Williams was already expected to have an uphill climb in his battle for a spot on the 53-man roster after the Cards drafted three wideouts in the 2019 NFL Draft. However, his pursuit of a job just got even harder on Monday when the team reportedly agreed to terms with veteran WR Michael Crabtree. You can safely leave Williams off of your fantasy cheat sheets for now.
