Dede Westbrook News
The Green Bay Packers signed wide receiver Dede Westbrook to their practice squad on Tuesday. The 29-year-old last played in 2021 as a member of the Vikings, finishing that season with ten receptions for 68 yards. He spent the first four seasons of his career in Jacksonville, three of which he was productive in. Green Bay is desperate for help at the wide receiver position given the litany of injuries they've suffered, but the former Jaguar is unlikely to make much impact even if he is able to crack the active roster.
Free-agent wide receiver and return specialist Dede Westbrook is working out for the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday. The 28-year-old played four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before landing with the Vikings last year, where he totaled 68 receiving yards on 10 catches. He also returned 22 punts for 183 yards, and it seems that would be his primary role if Minnesota were to bring him back. Ian Rapoport reported that a few other teams are also interested in Westbrook and that he is expected to sign somewhere in the coming days. His last notable year as a receiver came in 2019 when he cleared 100 targets (101) with 66 catches for 660 yards and three scores as a Jaguar. He would only have fantasy value if he lands somewhere as at least the third receiving option, which would not be the case in Minnesota behind wide receivers Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and K.J. Osborn.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Dede Westbrook (ankle) is officially inactive on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys after coming into the Week 8 contest with a questionable tag. Westbrook has been far from the fantasy radar this season, as he has only seven receptions on nine targets for 59 yards in six games played for Minnesota. Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and K.J. Osborn will remain the team's top three pass-catchers in the Sunday night matchup with Dallas. Rookie Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Dan Chisena will battle for snaps as the No. 4 wideout with Westbrook out of action this week.
