Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott (concussion) has passed the concussion protocol and will be able to play on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Elliott suffered a concussion while covering a kickoff in the last Eagles game, but he was able to make his way through the NFL's protocol in time to be ready for Sunday. The Eagles have Caleb Sturgis (groin) on Injured Reserve, and they considered activating him if Elliott wasn't going to be ready for Sunday's game. Instead, Elliott will be on the field and Sturgis will remain on the shelf.
Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott (concussion) is expected to be ready to kick for Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said, "Everything is looking good for him, where he's at right now. I feel in the bottom of my heart, that Jake will be ready." The Eagles have Caleb Sturgis on Injured Reserve, and he should be ready to go, but the fact that the Eagles have yet to activate him shows that they are confident Elliott will be good for Sunday's game.
Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott (concussion) is in the NFL's concussion protocol after being forced to leave Sunday night's game after the opening kickoff. The Eagles placed kicker Caleb Sturgis on Injured Reserve earlier this year and the assumption was that he would not be brought back thanks to the success of Elliott. With the rookie kicker now potentially not available, though, the Eagles could decide to bring back Sturgis for the rest of the season. That decision will depend on how Elliott progresses through the protocol early this week.
