Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will begin next season as the starter as the team will either release or trade veteran Joe Flacco. Jackson went 6-1 as the starter down the stretch of the regular season and led the Ravens to the AFC North Division title, their first since 2014. The 22-year-old struggled mightily during his first playoff game, a 23-17 loss to the Chargers in the AFC Wild Card, however, he did come on late in the fourth quarter. He finished the season (including postseason) with a 56.7 percent completion percentage while throwing 1,395 yards along with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. The No. 32 overall selection in 2018 also added 749 yards and five scores on the ground. Jackson will need to improve his accuracy as a passer if he is going to grow as a quarterback. The former Louisville star should be considered a high-upside QB2 to start the season.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 14 of 24 passes for 179 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Browns. The 21-year-old also added 90 yards and a season-high two touchdowns on 20 carries. It was one of the rookie's best passing performances this year. He tied his season high in completions, had his second-most passing yards, and the 7.4 yards per attempt was his second-highest mark this year. The former Louisville star has tallied 90 or more yards on the ground in two of the last three games and three of his seven starts. Jackson, who is 6-1 as a starter, has a tough first playoff matchup against a Chargers' defense that is ranked eighth in the scoring defense and eighth against the run. Jackson struggled against the Chargers when they squared off on Dec. 22 as he completed 12-for-22 for 204 yards and one touchdown while tallying just 39 yards on the ground on 13 attempts.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson completed just 12 of 22 passes but was able to pass for a season-high 204 yards, thanks in large part to a 68-yard touchdown connection with Mark Andrews, in Saturday's 22-10 victory over the Chargers. It is the third straight game he has tossed a touchdown pass and didn't throw an interception. He also added 39 rushing yards on 13 carries. The 39 yards on the ground is the 21-year-old's lowest since becoming a starter. Jackson will try to keep the Ravens rolling into an all-important Week 17 clash with the Browns, who rank in the middle of the pack in allowing fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Cleveland has allowed just one touchdown pass and has recorded four interceptions over the last four games, heading into Week 16.
