Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said that rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield (ankle) is "fine." Mayfield rolled his ankle a bit in the Week 6 loss to the Chargers, but he remained in the game for the entirety and will play this Sunday against the Buccaneers in a great matchup. Tampa allows the most passing yards per game, the most points per game and the most fantasy points per week (28.6) to the quarterback position in fantasy. Oh, and they just fired their defensive coordinator. While Mayfield's receiving options are bleak behind Jarvis Landry, he has upside this week to bounce back from his poor showing in Week 6.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (ankle) turned his ankle in the Week 6 loss to the Chargers, and it limited his effectiveness, according to a source. He will get treatment for the sprain during the week, but Mayfield isn't expected to miss Week 7 against the Buccaneers. Mayfield actually looked like a rookie in the team's blowout loss at home, but if healthy he could really bounce back against a Buccaneers team that allows chunk plays through the air at will. The rookie will be on the low-end QB1 radar if he's able to play.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled in his Week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mayfield completed 22 of 46 passes for 238 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the game. The rookie quarterback struggled to find time to throw as the Chargers' pass rush gave him fits in the game, sacking him five times and hurrying him on several other occasions. This goes down as the worst outing of the promising rookie's young career. That being said, Mayfield has a good chance to bounce back in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their weak pass defense.
