Former Houston Texans free-agent defensive lineman Rasheem Green signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Chicago Bears on Thursday, according to a source. Green was originally a third-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 out of the University of Southern California, and he spent the first four seasons of his career in Seattle before playing for the Texans in 2022. In 16 games (five starts) last year, Green had 42 tackles (27 solo), 3.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and eight QB hits. The 25-year-old has totaled 136 tackles (83 solo), 17 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 35 QB hits, eight pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his five NFL seasons. He'll be a rotational defensive lineman in Chicago in 2023.

Green is coming off a career year with 6.5 sacks, and he'll give the Texans a big post-draft boost off the edge of the defensive line. Seattle Seahawks free-agent pass-rusher Rasheem Green visited with the Houston Texans on Monday. Green previously visited with the Carolina Panthers and has had talks about returning to the Seahawks.
