Boston Scott News
Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott notably scored at least one touchdown in all eight of his career games against the New York Giants heading into Monday. This streak began in December of 2019 and extended to January of 2023. Unfortunately, his luck ran out in Week 16 of the 2023 season. Scott rushed just one time for three yards and lost a fumble on a kick return. D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell remain the clear lead backs in Philadelphia, so Scott is nowhere near the fantasy radar.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott (personal) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys for personal reasons. Scott wasn't on the fantasy radar to begin with after playing only one offensive snap in the Week 8 win over the Washington Commanders. In the last five games, the 28-year-old has played only six offensive snaps. He has eight carries in seven games this year for 45 yards and has caught all three of his targets for 25 yards. Until further notice, Scott should remain on all waiver wires while being buried on Philly's crowded RB depth chart. With Scott unavailable for this weekend's game, Rashaad Penny should be active behind D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Scott looks poised to reclaim his change-of-pace role for Week 4's duel with the Washington Commanders after reportedly clearing concussion protocol last Friday despite being ruled out of Week 3's game. The 28-year-old's return would likely make the surprisingly underused Rashaad Penny a healthy scratch. Scott is averaging 7.2 yards per carry on six totes, but he's not much of a threat to the roles of D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell. His handcuff upside is fairly low with so many heads in Philadelphia's backfield, so fantasy managers can certainly find a stronger bench stash.
