New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said quarterback Josh McCown will enter training camp as the No. 1 QB, but the Week 1 starter remains up in the air. McCown has the most experience and Teddy Bridgewater is intriguing if he's fully healthy, but rookie Sam Darnold is the wild card. McCown and Bridgewater would be middling QB2 choices, while Darnold easily possesses the most fantasy upside in the long run. This will certainly be a training camp battle to watch.

New York Jets quarterback Josh McCown is getting the first-team repetitions at organized team activities on Tuesday, followed by Teddy Bridgewater and third overall pick Sam Darnold. This is as expected concerning McCown, and the veteran should enter the 2018 as the starter. Bridgewater looks to be progressing nicely from his knee ailment, but his long-term future in New York is cloudy with Darnold set to be the franchise QB down the road. McCown flashed at times in 2017, but he's nothing more than a midrange QB2 in redraft leagues. Christian Hackenberg is a distant fourth and didn't see any reps Tuesday.

New York Jets veteran quarterback Josh McCown is expected to enter the season as the starting quarterback. However, first-rounder Sam Darnold, taken third overall in the draft, will be breathing down McCown's neck. Darnold will turn just 21 years old on June 5 and needs to be coached out of some bad habits (22 turnovers in college in 2017). "I think he's in a perfect situation, going to New York with Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater," former Jets quarterback Chad Pennington said last week on ESPN's Get Up! morning show. "He gets a chance to be patient. ... This needs to be a long-term process for Sam and the Jets, but I think they set themselves up nicely with a quarterback who can lead them in the future for a long time to come." While Darnold will be an excellent dynasty league pick this year, he'll surely have his ups and downs if he's starting games at some point in 2018. McCown had flashes last year for the Jets, but he should be avoided in most fantasy formats.
