Chad O'Shea News
The Miami Dolphins officially hired New England Patriots wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea as their next offensive coordinator on Wednesday, according to a source. O'Shea worked as a position coach for a decade under Bill Belichick in New England, but he'll now run an offense for the first time in the NFL. Miami is at a crossroads right now and is expected to move on from quarterback Ryan Tannehill, so there offense could be a struggle next season under O'Shea. Finding a franchise signal caller will be at the top of the team's to-do list, and they must add better weapons around running back Kenyan Drake and receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson.
New England Patriots wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea is the favorite to be hired as the Miami Dolphins next offensive coordinator, according to a league source. Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores is expected to become Miami's next head coach, but nothing can become official until after the Super Bowl. Flores has worked with O'Shea in New England since 2009, and O'Shea is considered an up-and-coming offensive mind. He'd have his work cut out for him in Miami, as they finished 31st on offense last year by averaging just 289.9 yards per game, the lowest in franchise history. The Dolphins also ranked 26th in scoring at 19.9 points per game. The biggest question is whether they will keep quarterback Ryan Tannehill around.
