Jeff Wilson Jr. Signs One-Year Tender

San Francisco 49ers exclusive-rights free-agent running back Jeff Wilson Jr. signed his one-year tender offer on Monday. Wilson had no outside negotiating rights, however, so it was never in question that he was signing his deal. The 24-year-old contributed 105 rushing yards on 27 carries (3.9 yards per tote) and four touchdowns in 2019, while adding only three receptions for 34 yards and another score. In one of the most crowded backfields in all of the NFL, Wilson is a long shot to return any fantasy value in 2020 unless injuries open up playing time for him. It would help if Matt Breida is traded, but there's also Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon in the fold.

49ers Re-Sign Jeffery Wilson, Ross Dwelley, Others

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed exclusive-rights free-agent running back Jeffery Wilson, tight end Ross Dwelley, quarterback Nick Mullens, offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley on Thursday. Wilson appeared in 10 games last year and had 27 carries for 105 yards and four touchdowns. He's unlikely to see much playing time again in 2020 while being buried on the depth chart in San Fran's crowded backfield. Dwelley played in a full season and started six games, catching 15 passes for 91 yards and two scores. He's behind All-Pro George Kittle and doesn't carry and fantasy value. Mullens is the backup to Jimmy Garoppolo and also isn't a factor in fantasy.

Jeffery Wilson Not A Viable Starting Option In Week 12

San Francisco 49ers running back Jeffery Wilson had only one target in Week 11 against the Cardinals. Luckily, it was a 25-yard touchdown reception, his fifth touchdown of the year. The team will likely be without Matt Breida (ankle) for the second straight game in Week 12, which allows Wilson some more opportunities. However, he's still behind Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert on the depth chart. Wilson likely won't see more than a few touches in Week 12, making him too risky of a start to trust.
