Joe Haden News
Former Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns cornerback Joe Haden has decided to retire. The 33-year-old will sign a one-day contract with Cleveland to retire as a Brown. The Browns drafted the former first-round pick in 2010, where he played for seven years before joining the Steelers for his final five seasons. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and voted second-team All-Pro once. Haden will end his career where it began, creating a sentimental moment for him and Browns fans.
With the Pittsburgh Steelers already signing two cornerbacks in Levi Wallace and Ahkello Witherspoon, veteran cornerback Joe Haden's days with the team are likely over. Haden had a great five-year run from 2017-21 with the Steelers with 10 interceptions, a Pro Bowl nod and 54 pass breakups, but the three-time Pro Bowler is likely to be playing elsewhere in 2022. The 32-year-old had his worst season with Pittsburgh last year, playing in only 12 games and finishing with 38 tackles (26 solo), six passes defensed and a fumble recovery. Haden is searching for a long-term deal in free agency heading into his 13th NFL season. He was originally selected seventh overall in the 2010 draft by the Cleveland Browns out of Florida.
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joe Haden (foot), who has been out for around a month with his foot injury, is expected to make his return in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans, according to a source. Haden was able to practice in full on Friday and was listed as questionable heading into Sunday's action. The Steelers will surely welcome the 32-year-old cornerback back against the Titans, but Pittsburgh's run defense has mostly been their problem this year, as they've allowed the second-most rushing yards per game (139.5) in 2021. The Titans, even though they're still without All-Pro running back Derrick Henry (foot), will surely attack Pittsburgh as much as they can on the ground this weekend.
