Ryan Kerrigan News
Ryan Kerrigan announced his retirement from the NFL after playing 11 seasons. The four-time Pro Bowler played 10 seasons in Washington and holds the team's all-time record for sacks with 95.5. He amassed three interceptions and 26 forced fumbles over his career while adding 333 solo tackles and 149 quarterback hits. After spending his final season with the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, the 33-year-old will sign a one-day contract and retire as a member of the Commanders.
Former Washington Football Team defensive end Ryan Kerrigan announced on his Instagram that he's signing an undisclosed deal with the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. After spending 10 seasons with Washington, the four-time Pro Bowler will remain in the NFC East and join the division-rival Eagles. The 32-year-old veteran has racked up 454 tackles (119 for loss), 147 QB hits, three interceptions (all for touchdowns), 25 passes defensed, 26 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and 95.5 sacks in 156 career games (141 starts) after he was the 16th overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. For an Eagles team lacking a ton of depth on the defensive front, Kerrigan represents a very nice pickup.
Washington Football Team Pro Bowl defensive end Ryan Kerrigan is visiting with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday, according to a source. Kerrigan could be another addition to a revamped Bengals defense this offseason. Washington also has interest in re-signing Kerrigan, the team's all-time sack leader. Kerrigan will turn 33 in August, but he's been one of the most consistent edge rushers in the league, recording 96 sacks over 156 games and 5.5 or more sacks in every season since 2011. The four-time Pro Bowler had 13 sacks in consecutive seasons in 2017 and 2018 and has had 5.5 each in the last two seasons. He could form a formidable pass-rushing duo with Trey Hendrickson if he lands in Cincinnati.
