Logan Ryan News
San Francisco 49ers defensive back Logan Ryan (groin) does not carry an injury designation ahead of Saturday's playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Ryan popped up as a non-participant during Tuesday's practice. After that, Ryan was limited on Wednesday before getting in a full session on Thursday. The veteran defensive back appears to be fine and should see plenty of playing time this weekend. He figures to have a significant role alongside Ji'Ayir Brown and Tashaun Gipson.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers activated safety Logan Ryan (foot) from Injured Reserve on Monday before the Week 13 game against the New Orleans Saints and waived safety Nolan Turner in a corresponding move. Ryan has missed the last seven games after having surgery for his broken foot, but he'll be available for Tampa's secondary to close out Week 13 action against the Saints. The Bucs defense is also expected to have both defensive linemen Akiem Hicks (foot) and Vita Vea (foot) active, so they are receiving quite the boost with Ryan also available. Defensive backs Mike Edwards (hamstring) and Antoine Winfield (ankle) are both doubtful on Monday night, so Ryan will help pick up some of the slack, likely in a reduced role in his first game back.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers designated defensive back Logan Ryan (foot) to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, opening his 21-day practice window for the team to officially activate him from IR. There's a chance that Ryan will be able to play on Monday night in Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints, but it will depend on how he looks at practice this week. The 31-year-old has been sidelined since mid-October due to a fractured foot that required surgery, so there's a good chance he's eased back in once he's officially activated. With the Buccaneers still in play to win the NFC South despite a losing record, the Bucs will hope that Ryan can help their secondary down the stretch. Ryan had only nine tackles (five solo), an interception, two passes defensed and a forced fumble in four games before he broke his foot.
