Justin Pugh News
In a sign of how banged up the New York Giants offensive line is, veteran offensive lineman Justin Pugh has gone from his couch to being signed to the team's active roster in the span of two weeks. Pugh was originally signed to the team's practice squad on Oct. 3 but signed to the active roster on Wednesday, three days after he made his debut with the team on Sunday night. He started at left guard in the Week 6 loss to the Buffalo Bills and then improbably shifted to left tackle when Josh Ezeudu (toe) was injured in the first half. Pugh had played just five snaps at left tackle since 2015. He will likely remain at left tackle in the short term since the G-Men are still without All-Pro Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and Ezeudu was placed on Injured Reserve. It's more bad news for the Giants struggling offense.
Veteran offensive lineman Justin Pugh is signing with the New York Giants on Tuesday. The 33-year-old was a first-round pick by the Giants in 2013 and spent five seasons with the organization before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2018. Pugh suffered a torn ACL in Week 6 of last season and is fully healthy for the 2023 campaign. He will start on the team's practice squad, but his 119 NFL starts should give him a chance to compete for a starting spot on the Giants' offensive line, which just allowed 11 sacks against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Arizona Cardinals fear that starting left guard Justin Pugh (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Week 6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, according to sources. Pugh is having additional tests on Monday to confirm, but this will be a big loss for the Cardinals offensive line the rest of the way. The 32-year-old was seen with a brace on his right leg following Sunday's loss. He suffered the knee injury in the first half of the game against Seattle. With Pugh now likely out for the rest of the 2022 campaign, look for Max Garcia to step up at the left guard spot in Arizona.
