Bashaud Breeland News
The Arizona Cardinals signed cornerback Bashaud Breeland to their practice squad on Tuesday. Breeland worked out for the Cardinals last week and was set to sign with them before testing positive for COVID-19. The 29-year-old was waived by the Minnesota Vikings the previous week after he got into an altercation with coaches and teammates. In other moves on Tuesday, the Cardinals activated linebacker Markus Golden, tackle D.J. Humphries, linebacker Devon Kennard and cornerback Breon Borders from the COVID list. In 13 games for the Vikings this year, Breeland had two interceptions and five passes defensed. He'll operate as cornerback depth heading into the playoffs for Arizona.
Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland (concussion) has cleared the league's concussion protocol and has no game status for Sunday. He will play in the AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills. It's good news for a Chiefs secondary that will be trying to slow down All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs and breakout quarterback Josh Allen as they try to secure back-to-back trips to the Super Bowl. The 29-year-old Breeland was hit with a four-game suspension during the regular season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, but he still managed to record 38 combined tackles, two interceptions, nine passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 11 games in 2020. KC's defense allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this year, so they'll need Breeland in order to contain Buffalo's passing game.
Kansas City Chiefs starting right cornerback Bashaud Breeland is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy of substances of abuse, according to a source. Breeland is expected to miss the first four games against the Texans, Chargers, Ravens and Patriots. It's not a surprise to anyone, as Breeland was expected to be suspended to begin the 2020 season. The 28-year-old will be eligible to return in Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders. In his first season with KC last year, Breeland had 48 combined tackles, two interceptions, eight passes defensed and two fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown. You can leave him alone in IDP leagues.
