Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis, the fifth overall pick in 2017, has developed a greater chemistry with quarterback Marcus Mariota. He had 65 catches for 891 yards and four touchdowns last season. Me and Marcus, our chemistry is growing every day, and its continuing to grow, Davis said. Our job is to get open and catch the ball. ... Our chemistry is looking good and continuing to grow. The addition of wideout Adam Humphries and the healthy return of tight end Delanie Walker should improve the offense overall, but it might also make it tougher for Davis to get a lot of looks. In a run-first offense with Mariota at the helm, Davis' upside may be capped.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota said he added five to 10 pounds of "good weight" this offseason. The 25-year-old signal-caller has never played a full season in his four years in the NFL, so hopefully the added weight can keep him on the field for the long haul. He had a career-low 2,528 yards passing, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 14 games in 2018. In Tennessee's run-first offense, Mariota is nothing more than an injury risk as a QB2.
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed at the NFL owners meetings that quarterback Marcus Mariota remains the starter, even after the club acquired Ryan Tannehill from the Dolphins. Vrabel also said he expects Mariota to be ready when the team starts their offseason program on April 15 after battling through injuries in 2018. Mariota started 13 games last season and finished with a disappointing 2,528 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. On a run-first team without great options in the passing game, Mariota will continue to be a mediocre QB2.
