Ali Marpet News
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pro Bowl offensive guard Ali Marpet announced his retirement on Sunday at the age of 28. The Super Bowl champion started since he entered the league and has been excellent since he was taken in the second round of the 2015 draft by the Bucs out of little Hobart College. The 28-year-old called it quits due to concerns about his health. The Bucs offensive line could look quite different for the 2022 season, as both center Ryan Jensen and right guard Alex Cappa are set to hit the open market next month as free agents. Tampa's biggest question mark is under center at the quarterback position, too, after Tom Brady's retirement.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers left guard Ali Marpet (abdomen) is active in Week 13 against the Atlanta Falcons after missing one game with an injury. Marpet's missed game last weekend against the Indianapolis Colts is the only missed game by Tampa's starting five offensive linemen all season. It's great news for the Tampa offense led by quarterback Tom Brady and for running back Leonard Fournette. The Buccaneers shouldn't have many problems putting up points against the Falcons defense on Sunday, so Fournette, Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski are all excellent fantasy plays for Week 13. Start them with confidence.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers left guard Ali Marpet (oblique) was injured on Monday night against the New York Giants and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. With the quick rule-out and on a short week going into Week 12, Marpet may have to miss Tampa's next game as well. Aaron Stinnie will take over at left guard for the rest of the game on the Bucs offensive line, which is having their way against the Giants so far in the first half. Losing Marpet for any amount of time would be a big loss for this offense, so we'll keep an eye on how much time he might potentially miss.
