Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers (knee) returned to practice on Wednesday, starting the team's 21-day window to activate him from the Physically Unable to Perform list. Rogers is working his way back from a torn ACL last year and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar the rest of the way.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers (knee) is expected to begin the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to a source. Rogers is also facing a one-game suspension for a substance-abuse violation. He hasn't practiced all preseason and wouldn't be able to return until after Week 6. Rogers can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.
The Pittsburgh Steelers opted not to tender restricted free-agent wide receiver Eli Rogers, allowing the young wide receiver to become an unrestricted free agent. Rogers tore his ACL during the playoffs, an injury which could have played into Pittsburgh's decision to not tender him. The emergence of star rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster also likely played a role in the team's decision. Rogers saw a significant dropoff in statistics in 2017 with Smith-Schuster on the team. Rogers caught 66 balls in 2016 but just 18 in 2017. The injury may limit the market for Rogers, who could eventually help another team as a slot receiver.
