Ka'imi Fairbairn News
The Houston Texans re-signed kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn to a three-year, $15.9 million deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Fairbairn's average annual value of $5.3 million makes him the fourth-highest paid kicker in the league on a yearly basis. The 30-year-old kicked in a career-low 12 games in 2023 due to injury, but he was solid when he was active, making 96.4 percent of his 28 field-goal attempts while missing just one of his 22 extra-point tries during the regular season. All seven of his NFL seasons have come with the Texans, and he's made 87.1 percent of his 201 field-goal attempts in that time. With young quarterback C.J. Stroud leading what should be an explosive Houston offense for years to come, Fairbairn's fantasy needle is pointing up heading into 2024.
Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn is a great play in Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns. Last week, Fairbairn finished with a season-high 17 fantasy points behind a four field goal day. With Case Keenum under center once again this weekend, the Texans' kicker could be called upon a lot. On the year, he has made 22 of 23 field goals while converting on all 15 extra points. Fairbairn is averaging 9.8 fantasy points per game this year and should be heavily considered for your kicker spot in Week 16.
Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn (right quadricep) has been activated from injured reserve ahead of Week 15 versus the Tennessee Titans. This move was widely expected after he practiced in full all week long and did not carry an injury designation into the weekend. While Fairbairn ranked as a top-12 kicker when healthy earlier this season, he's not a reliable fantasy option this week. With C.J. Stroud (concussion) out, Case Keenum is expected to quarterback the Houston offense. This is a significant downgrade at quarterback and, along with the absence of Nico Collins (calf) and Tank Dell (leg), could make it difficult for the Texans to move down the field. Managers can leave Fairbairn on waivers until Stroud returns to the fold.
