Christian McCaffrey Not Worried About Reduced Workload

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey said he's not worried about the team reducing his workload in 2019 after he played 91.3 percent of the offensive snaps last year. He played 75 more snaps than any other running back in the league and led all running backs with an NFL single-season record of 107 catches for 867 yards. He set the team's single-season record for all-purpose yards with 1,965. McCaffrey thinks his intense offseason training will help him handle a large load again. Carolina may look to add another back in the draft to help take pressure off McCaffrey, but he remains one of the most diverse and explosive backs in the NFL. He'll surely be a first-round fantasy pick.

Christian McCaffrey Could Be Rested

While Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera won't officially say whether running back Christian McCaffrey will be rested in Week 17 against the Saints, he admitted "we need to be smart" and that it could be a good time "to evaluate" their younger players. McCaffrey has already become only the third player in NFL history to have 1,000 rushing yards and catch 100 passes, so that milestone has already been accomplished. He has been a fantasy MVP this year, but you may be without him in the regular season finale. This is why most leagues only go until Week 16. If he were to be rested, some combination of Cameron Artis-Payne, Travaris Cadet and Kenjon Barner would work the backfield in a meaningless game with the Saints already locking up home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

Christian McCaffrey Throws Touchdown In Loss

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey threw a touchdown in the Panthers loss against the New Orleans Saints. McCaffrey finished the game with 53 yards on the ground, to add to his team-high eight receptions for 67 yards. While he wasn't able to find the end zone himself, he did throw a pass to tight end Chris Manhertz on a trick play that completed for a 50-yard touchdown.McCaffrey has a Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, who give up an average of 22.6 points to the position. McCaffrey has a great fantasy floor, due to his work in the passing game and should be trusted in this matchup- even if the Panthers offense as a whole struggle.
