Detroit Lions tight end Michael Roberts put up a goose egg in Week 14 against the Cardinals. This week against the Bills, Roberts will have his hands full as Buffalo has allowed just 41 receptions and four touchdowns to tight ends this season. The only way Roberts could find any relevance is if he scores a touchdown, but with the inconsistency of this Lions offense, you would be hard pressed to think Roberts is an option this week.
The Detroit Lions placed tight end Michael Roberts (shoulder) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, officially ending his season. Tight end Jerome Cunningham was signed off the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move. Roberts had a stretch of three touchdowns in two games earlier this year as a red-zone weapon for quarterback Matthew Stafford, but it didn't last. He finishes the year with only nine catches on 20 targets for 100 yards and three scores. Luke Willson will continue to serve as the pass-catching tight end, but he's a low-end TE2 for fantasy, even with Detroit's offense running dangerously thin on playmakers.
Detroit Lions tight end Michael Roberts did not register a catch in Sunday's win over the Cardinals despite being targeted twice. It was a bad day all around for the Lions passing attack as Matthew Stafford did not throw a touchdown but that also spells bad news for fantasy owners. The Lions tight end position has been relatively useless all year and it doesn't look to be getting better as the season winds down. Detroit travels to play the Bills next week.
