Robbie Anderson News
Football Outsiders' Aaron Schatz predicts that the Arizona Cardinals will cut wide receiver Robbie Anderson this offseason after he had only seven catches in 10 games for the team in 2022 after they acquired him from the Carolina Panthers. Cutting Anderson would trim $12 million from the team's salary cap in 2023 with no dead money. The 29-year-old was pretty much buried on the Cardinals receiver depth chart behind DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch, giving him little chance to make much of an impact in the middle of the season. His current contract calls for a non-guaranteed $8.8 million base salary and $3 million roster bonus in 2023. It's pretty much a no-brainer that Anderson will be released at some point this offseason.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. With DeAndre Hopkins (knee) also ruled out for the second straight game, Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch and A.J. Green should operate as the primary pass-catchers for the Cardinals in a meaningless game for them with quarterback David Blough making his second straight start. Anderson will finish an extremely disappointing 2022 season in which he caught 20 passes on 44 targets for a career-low 282 yards and only one touchdown in 16 games for the Cardinals and Carolina Panthers. He caught just seven passes for 76 yards in 10 games with Arizona. The 29-year-old is heading into the final year of his deal, but there's a good chance he'll be cut this offseason.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Robbie Anderson (back) wasn't seen on the practice field on Thursday in the portion of practice open to the media. If Anderson doesn't practice on Thursday, it will be his second straight missed session of the week, leaving his status up in the air for Sunday's season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. DeAndre Hopkins has already been ruled out as well, so if Anderson isn't cleared, the Cardinals would be working with Marquise Brown, Greg Dortch and veteran A.J. Green as their top three receivers against a tough Niners defense. If Anderson ends up playing this weekend, he's an easy fade in DFS and season-long leagues with quarterback David Blough making his second straight start.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson doesn't want to play for a team with Baker Mayfield as its quarterback. He is even thinking about retiring, too, and the truth is that he has a point in doing so because... what is the upside in playing under Sam Darnold or Matt Corral? I don't really have the tiniest of ideas. The 29-year-old will be entering his third season playing for the Panthers in 2022, and although his first one was good enough, the truth is that the 2021 campaign was an...
