Tajae Sharpe News
Free-agent wide receiver Tajae Sharpe agreed to a one-year contract with the Bears on Wednesday night. Sharpe, a 2016 fifth-round pick, began his career in Tennessee, where he spent his first three active seasons before landing in Minnesota and, most recently, Atlanta. However, he hasn't done much throughout his tenure in the league, compiling only 117 catches for 1,397 yards and eight touchdowns. He also dealt with a foot injury that kept him out the entire 2017 campaign. Nonetheless, the 27-year-old will not only have competition for looks, but he'll also be catching throws from Justin Fields, a quarterback who is still developing. As a result, Sharpe likely won't do much for fantasy managers, so it's best he remains undrafted in all formats.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Tajae Sharpe has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, further complicating his return to action after missing Week 16 due to a foot injury. Without Sharpe (and Calvin Ridley) in the mix, Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus have taken over the top two wideout roles, while Kyle Pitts remains a passing game focal point. While Sharpe has been on the field for at least 55 percent of the team's offensive snaps in each of the last eight games that he has been active, that hasn't translated into fantasy-relevant performances; Sharpe has more than three receptions in just one of those outings, with zero touchdowns for the year. With multiple hurdles to clear before returning to game action, in addition to a matchup against a stout Bills defense in Week 17, Sharpe can remain on the waiver wire for all season-long finals contests.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Tajae Sharpe (foot) has been deemed doubtful to play in Sunday's game against Detroit due to a foot injury. Sharpe missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, with his ailment not progressing after leaving the Week 15 matchup early. The 27-year-old has seen a considerable snap count with Calvin Ridley (personal) not in the mix, but it hasn't translated to on-field results; through 14 games, Sharpe has accumulated just 25 catches for 230 yards. Since entering the starting lineup with consistency back in Week 9, Sharpe has yet to exceed three catches in any outing. Without him on the field, Olamide Zaccheaus and Christian Blake stand to see a higher target share, while Kyle Pitts and Russell Gage stand out as Matt Ryan's top pass-catching options.
