Quinnen Williams Held Out Of Practice

New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (calf), the third overall pick of the draft, is being held out of organized team activities on Thursday with a calf injury. The Jets are just being cautious with him. The former Alabama star is freakishly athletic for a 300-pounder that can win with power and balance at the three-technique. He should clog running lanes and rush the passer with regularity for Gang Green.

Jets Sign Deonte Thompson

The New York Jets signed free-agent wide receiver Deonte Thompson to an undisclosed deal on Tuesday, according to agent David Canter. Thompson had 17 catches for 161 yards and no touchdowns in 13 combined games with the Bills and Cowboys in the 2018 season. He'll merely be receiver depth for Gang Green if he even makes the final roster out of training camp.

Robby Anderson Signs Restricted Tender

New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson signed his second-round restricted tender offer on Thursday, which is worth roughly $3.1 million. Anderson preferred a long-term extension, but he'll have to prove himself in 2019 again and wait until next offseason. The 26-year-old has led the team in receiving yards, targets and touchdowns each of the last two years. He finished with 50 catches for 752 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games for Gang Green in 2018. Anderson has yet to reach the 1,000-yard mark in his three seasons, but that could be coming in his second year with Sam Darnold under center as the team's top wideout.

Five Teams Could Potentially Move Down

The New York Jets (No. 3), Detroit Lions (No. 8), Miami Dolphins (No. 13), Seattle Seahawks (No. 21, 29) and Los Angeles Rams (No. 31) are the teams showing the most interest in moving down in the draft, according to sources. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Rams have already received calls from teams interested in trading back into the first round, with the value of the fifth-year option for first-round picks becoming even more important.

Jets Select Quinnen Williams At No. 3 Overall

The New York Jets selected Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Big Baby, a nose tackle, was considered by many to be the best overall prospect in this draft. He'll be a force to reckon with in the middle in the AFC East and will surely help Gang Green's rush defense and run defense immediately. Williams brings scheme versatility as well and is just a beast on the defensive line.
