Jesse Puljujärvi News
Carolina Hurricanes forward Jesse Puljujarvi will not be playing in Game 4 against New Jersey on Tuesday, as he has been listed as a healthy scratch. Throughout the playoffs, Puljujarvi has recorded one assist, 12 shots on goal, and has a minus-3 rating across seven games. Replacement winger MacKenzie MacEachern will take Puljujarvi's place on the fourth line. Puljujarvi continues to struggle in the playoffs as he did in the regular season, with five goals and 11 assists in 75 contests playing with Edmonton and Carolina.
Carolina Hurricanes right wing Jesse Puljujarvi will rejoin the lineup for Friday's Game 3 against the Islanders. He was a healthy scratch for the first two games of the series, but Teuvo Teravainen's (hand) injury will force Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour to switch things up. Brind'Amour is also expected to juggle his lines a bit, so it's unclear where Puljujarvi will play. The Finnish winger was used throughout the lineup during the regular season after he was picked up via a trade from Edmonton at the end of February. The former fourth-overall pick failed to score and registered only two points in 17 regular-season outings with the Hurricanes.
Carolina Hurricanes right wing Jesse Puljujarvi is expected to make his team debut Saturday against Vegas. He was picked up from Edmonton with a trade on Feb. 28, but Puljujarvi ran into some visa issues and he only joined the team just a few days ago. Derek Stepan is coming out of the lineup to make room for Puljujarvi. The Finnish winger tallied only 14 points in 58 games with the Oilers this season, so he won't have to do a lot to have a better time in Carolina. He starts off as a bottom-six forward for the Hurricanes, but Puljujarvi is slated to skate with the second power-play unit Saturday and could get some ice time on scoring lines soon as well.
Carolina Hurricanes right wing Jesse Puljujarvi has finally joined the team and could make his debut in Tuesday's matchup against Montreal. The Finnish forward had some visa issues that kept him from joining his new team straight away after the Hurricanes traded for him on Feb. 28. Puljujarvi's Edmonton career ended up being a disappointment and he will have plenty to prove as a Hurricane. The former fourth-overall pick managed only five goals and 14 points in 58 games with the Oilers this season and averaged a measly 0.35 points per game across his whole career in Canada.
