Brayden Schenn News
St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn extended his point streak to five games with the game-winning goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime victory against Los Angeles. He scored for the fourth time in five games, and Schenn's scoring streak also includes two assists. The veteran has looked like a completely different player out there recently, following up an awful 12-game scoring drought with a run of 11 points (five goals, six assists) over a 10-game span. Schenn has totaled 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 48 games for the season.
St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn ended a dry spell with two goals and an assist in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Sabres. After having tallied only one point in his previous seven outings, Schenn bagged a power-play goal with five minutes played and added two more points in even-strength situations in the second period. The veteran has been inconsistent in 2023-24, to say the least. He had three outings with three-plus points in November, but Schenn couldn't add any points to his tally in nine of his 15 appearances during the month. For the campaign overall, Schenn has produced eight goals and 14 points in 22 games.
St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn was named the team captain on Tuesday. He becomes the 24th player in franchise history to lead the side as captain. The Blues were left looking for a new captain after Ryan O'Reilly was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in February. Schenn, who has been an alternate captain for three years, moved to St. Louis in 2017 from Philadelphia. He posted a career-high 70 points in his first season with the team and has been one of the Blues' most consistent performers throughout his stay. Last season, Schenn totaled 65 points (21 goals, 44 assists) in 82 appearances. Being named captain is a tremendous honor for any player, and Schenn must be itching to get going now with the new season.
St. Louis Blues forward Brayden Schenn (lower body) will be in the lineup Saturday versus Pittsburgh. His status for the game was unclear after he skipped Friday's practice. Schenn has been playing through a lower-body injury and it appeared that he could take some time off, but he won't be skipping the game in the end. The 31-year-old will skate in his 800th career game, hoping to boost his points tally, which currently stands at 17 for the season. Schenn has gone scoreless in four games, but teaming up with in-form Vladimir Tarasenko and Ivan Barbashev will give him a good opportunity to break out of the slump.
