Evander Kane News
Edmonton Oilers left wing Evander Kane grabbed two goals as the team ran out 6-3 winners against the Coyotes on Monday. He tied the game at three early in the third period and quickly added a second after Zach Hyman had put Edmonton up. Following a couple of rough months, Kane has found his shooting stick again in February, producing six goals in seven games. He became Edmonton's fourth 20-goal scorer on Monday and has notched 35 points in total across 51 games.
Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane (hand) could miss Thursday's game against the Seattle Kraken after suffering a hand injury on Tuesday. Kane wasn't hampered in that contest, as he played over 18 minutes, but the injury is apparently bad enough that he could miss game action. The 32-year-old is in a major scoring drought, posting just three points (two goals, one assist) in his last 14 games. This coincides with Kane being taken off Connor McDavid's line along with a decrease in powerplay time, so the results aren't terribly surprising. Kane should be kept in all but the shallowest of leagues as he has point potential and continues to be a peripheral animal.
Edmonton Oilers left wing Evander Kane scored three consecutive goals to record a natural hat trick and lead the comeback in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime victory against the Kraken. Kane got the scoring started with under seven minutes remaining in the third period, while his equalizing goal was scored in front of the net with 46 seconds to go in regulation. In overtime, the 32-year-old received a perfect pass from forward Zach Hyman and scored on a one-timer to complete his seventh career hat trick. Kane has season totals of seven goals and 15 points through 15 games, meaning that the veteran forward has a chance to set a new career-high in points this season, with his current career-high being 57 points from the 2011-12 season.
Edmonton Oilers left wing Evander Kane had his most productive performance of the season Sunday against the Flames, becoming only the third player ever to post three points in a Heritage Classic game. He joined Steve Staios and Vinnie Hinostroza on the list with a goal and two assists in a 5-2 win. Kane entered the action having notched only three points during his previous seven appearances this season. He's had a poor start, and it led to a reduction in playing time, which Kane didn't take too kindly. However, on Sunday, he reminded everyone what he's capable of doing when he's in full flow, and that's now five points in three games for the enigmatic winger.
