Ryan Pulock News
New York Islanders defensemen Ryan Pulock (lower body) and Adam Pelech (head) are both listed as game-time decisions for the team's return to action Monday versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pulock has missed the past 24 games due to a lower-body injury suffered in a Dec. 7 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. He returned to practice on Sunday and took part in Monday's morning skate as well. Pelech has missed just one game after taking an elbow to the head from Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher on Jan. 25. Gallagher was suspended five games for the incident. "I feel good. I took it easy and rest up over the [All-Star] break," Pelech said. The Islanders sit fourth in the Metropolitan Division with a 20-17-12 record, but their minus-23 goal differential is the fourth-worst mark in the Eastern Conference.
New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock has been placed on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury. The IR designation means he must sit out a minimum of seven days which rules him out for three contests versus the Kings, Maple Leafs, and Ducks. The right-shot blueliner was struck in the leg by a shot from the Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski on Thursday and actually played six more shifts before sitting out the remainder of his club's 7-3 defeat. The 29-year-old has collected two goals and six points across 25 games on the season while also adding 37 hits and a hefty 66 blocked shots in that time. The Islanders have been hit hard by the injury bug on the blueline as Adam Pelech (upper-body) and Sebastian Aho (upper-body) are also out of action.
New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock contributed with four assists in Saturday's 5-2 win over Philadelphia. Two of his helpers came with the man advantage as the Islanders turned a 2-1 deficit into a comfortable victory. Pulock had entered the game with just seven points to his name this season. He's had a very tough time generating any offense, but Pulock logs a lot of minutes and has played an important role for the team with his work on the defensive end. He has recorded 36 blocks and 43 hits in 23 games with a plus-10 rating.
New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock (illness) will be back in action on Friday against Tampa Bay. He missed Thursday's game against Washington with a non-COVID illness but it looks like he's feeling well enough to play in the season finale. Pulock hasn't had a great year and sits on just 20 points with 55 games played, but he's seen some offensive success in his most recent outings, scoring in back-to-back games and putting together a three-game point streak. Pulock re-enters the lineup at the expense of Sebastian Aho, who suffered an upper-body injury on Thursday.
