Vladislav Namestnikov News
Winnipeg Jets forward Vladislav Namestnikov came through with a goal and an assist as the team beat Buffalo 5-2 on the road Sunday. Namestnikov linked up with Mark Scheifele to help Josh Morrissey tie the game at two in the middle of the third period, and he potted in an empty-netter to ice the win. The versatile Russian forward saw nearly 17 minutes of ice time as a member of the second unit. He jumped into a top-six role to fill in for Gabriel Vilardi (upper body), who missed both of the team's two games over the weekend. Namestnikov will have elevated fantasy value until Vilardi returns. He will enter the next matchup boasting 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) in 57 games for the season.
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vladislav Namestnikov will miss Tuesday's game against Seattle with an undisclosed injury. He will be out of the lineup for the first time this season, and the team considers Namestnikov day-to-day. The 30-year-old has tallied six points across 27 games with 40 hits this season as a bottom-six forward. Namestnikov has been a 40-point guy in the league, but he's scored just once all season and his form is clearly lacking. Maybe the time off will do him good. His first chance to return to the lineup comes on Thursday versus Columbus.
Detroit Red Wings forward Vladislav Namestnikov found the net for the fourth time this season in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss to Chicago. The Red Wings battled back from a two-goal deficit, with Christian Djoos also scoring, but took their 13th loss of the year in the end. Detroit has improved following a horrible start and Namestnikov has found his form as well with four points in his past six outings. He is averaging 2.3 shots per game this month and has tallied 35 total efforts for the season along with 24 hits and 14 blocks in 17 appearances. He will look to add to his tally in Wednesday's rematch with the Blackhawks.
Detroit Red Wings forward Vladislav Namestnikov scored the team's lone goal in Friday's 3-1 loss to Tampa. Filip Zadina and Jon Merrill had the assists on the goal. Namestnikov fired off four shots in total, adding two hits and two blocks. The Russian forward has only three points for the season, but he is centering the second power-play unit and should improve his numbers once the Red Wings sort out their power play, which is currently among the worst in the league with a 10 percent efficiency. He also has a couple of favorable matchups next against the Panthers, who can't keep the puck out of their net and allow nearly three goals per game (2.75).
