Bo Horvat News
New York Islanders center Bo Horvat scored two goals on Sunday against the Rangers but was unable to save the team from a 5-2 loss in this season's second Battle of New York. Horvat gave his team the lead in the first period with a short-handed tally and knotted the score at two in the second with an even-strength goal, but the Islanders needed a lot more scoring on Sunday to match their neighbors. Patrick Roy's team is struggling to keep pace in the battle for a playoff spot, but Horvat definitely isn't to blame for this. He's had six goals in the last seven contests and already boasts four multi-point games for the month. It's been a strong first full campaign for the 28-year-old with the team, as Horvat is topping the Islanders' goals list with 29 markers and boasts 61 points in 66 games.
New York Islanders center Bo Horvat was involved in three goals as the team beat the Coyotes 5-1 on the road Thursday night. Horvat opened the scoring with a power-play marker, collected an even-strength assist before the first period was done, and completed his three-point outing with the game's final goal 6:55 from the end of regulation. It's Horvat's third three-point effort of the season. His recent form has been inconsistent, but overall, Horvat has enjoyed his first full season in Long Island, bagging 16 goals and 22 assists in 37 games. He's on track to record his first full year with a scoring pace of at least a point per game.
New York Islanders center Bo Horvat (lower body) is traveling with the team to Boston for Thursday's game against the Bruins and is considered a game-time decision. Horvat missed Tuesday's game with an injury suffered when he blocked a shot last Saturday, but he appears to be on the mend and could play Thursday. The Isles captain has nine points (four goals, five assists) in 10 games while playing on the first line with Anders Lee and Mathew Barzal. He is a very effective fantasy player who provides plenty of category coverage and is a must-start as soon as he returns.
New York Islanders center Bo Horvat (lower body) is regarded as day-to-day and could miss his first game of the season on Tuesday versus Minnesota. He sat out Monday's practice after getting hurt while blocking a shot in a matchup against Carolina at the weekend. Horvat has been the Islanders' most productive forward with nine points (four goals, five assists) in 10 games. Oliver Wahlstrom replaced him on the first line in Monday's practice, with Mathew Barzal shifting to center. Wahlstrom has gone scoreless through five appearances so far this season, but a first-line role gives him an excellent opportunity to make an impact.
