Adam Fox News
New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox (lower body) is skating as a full participant in practice and is expected to be activated off LTIR on Wednesday when he is first eligible. Fox will miss Monday's game against the Buffalo Sabres, but that will be his 10th game on LTIR, meaning he can return Wednesday against Detroit. Fox has 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 10 games this season and should immediately return to his top pairing and first powerplay duties upon return. The 25-year-old should be activated in all fantasy leagues as soon as he returns. Erik Gustafsson will see a large decrease in his role when Fox returns, making him droppable in most fantasy leagues.
New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox skated with the team for the second straight day in a non-contact jersey as he works his way back from a lower-body injury sustained Nov. 2 versus the Carolina Hurricanes. When asked about a timetable for the all-world blueliner, Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette said "I'm going to stay away from timetables." The Rangers have managed to persevere without their top rear guard as they have gone 4-0-1 in Fox's absence. He was once again enjoying a big season prior to hitting the shelf as Fox has notched three goals and 11 points across 10 games on the campaign with nine of those points coming on the man advantage.
New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox (lower body) was placed on long-term Injured Reserve on Friday. He was forced to exit Thursday's 2-1 win over Carolina after being involved in a collision with Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho, and Fox now won't be eligible to play until Nov. 29. He will start a 10-game absence Saturday versus Minnesota. Fox is the leader of the Rangers blue line, and his absence will be felt all over the ice. The two-time All-Star has racked up 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 10 games this season with 15 shots on goal and 12 blocks. Erik Gustafsson is poised to replace Fox on the first power-play unit, which will give a nice boost to his fantasy stock. The Rangers have the third-best power play in the league with a 32.4 percent efficiency.
New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox left Thursday night's contest versus the Carolina Hurricanes early with an apparent injury following a collision with Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho. He has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Obviously, any lengthy absence for the 25-year-old would be a significant blow for the Rangers. Fox has erupted for 11 points through the first nine games this season after registering 72 points in 82 games last season, finishing as the Norris Trophy runner-up to Erik Karlsson in the process. In his absence, Erik Gustafsson is the likeliest candidate to take over as the lone defenseman on the Rangers' top power-play unit while Jacob Trouba would likely take over as the No. 1 defenseman on the right side of the club's blueline.
