Nico Hischier News
New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier had his second consecutive multi-assist game on Tuesday, helping the team defeat the Colorado Avalanche 5-3. The Swiss centerman helped to set up Jesper Bratt and John Marino, with the latter bagging the game-winning goal. Hischier also put in a major shift on the defensive end with four blocks. He had 11 of his 30 points in January, and it looks like Hischier doesn't plan to slow down in February, either. He's notched 13 goals and 17 assists in 37 games for the season.
New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier scored two goals in Saturday's 4-2 victory against the Flames. The 24-year-old extended his point streak to three consecutive games, while picking up at least one point in six of the past seven games. Hischier has been limited to only 14 games due to an upper-body injury in the early part of the season, but the center has produced six goals and 11 points while centering the second forward line.
New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier returned to practice on Monday for the first time since suffering an upper-body injury on Oct. 27 in a game against the Buffalo Sabres. Hischier took a hit to the head from Sabres defenseman Connor Clifton who was subsequently handed a two-game suspension. The Swiss center has since missed the last nine games. "We hope to see him again at practice tomorrow but I don't really have a timeline... we'll see how practice goes," Devils head coach Lindy Ruff said. It was a slow start to the season for Hischier who set career-highs with 31 goals and 80 points last season. He notched two goals for his lone points through seven games while his 16:50 of average ice time is well below his 19:17 mark from a season ago.
New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier (upper body) is facing a multi-game absence, with general manager Tom Fitzgerald suggesting he won't join the team for an upcoming four-game road trip. According to James Nichols of New Jersey Hockey Now, Fitzgerald "doesn't anticipate" Hischier making the eight-day trip that starts Thursday in Minnesota. Hischier has already been out for one game after getting injured in a contest against Buffalo last week. Michael McLeod joined the top six in Hischer's absence in Sunday's 4-3 win against the Wild.
