John Marino News
New Jersey Devils defenseman John Marino (undisclosed) will be back in the lineup for Tuesday's road game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The right-shot blue-liner has missed the past two games with an undisclosed injury. The 26-year-old is just one point shy of tying his career-high from his 2019 rookie season, as he has recorded four goals and 25 points across 71 games on the season, although he posted that career-high of 26 points in just 56 games while with the Penguins in the 2019-20 campaign. The Devils will need to win out as they sit five points back of the second and final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with many teams to leap and just four games to do it in.
New Jersey Devils defenseman John Marino is set to return for Saturday's contest against the Ottawa Senators. The veteran blueliner has missed the past two games and four of the last five due to an upper-body injury. "I've been in and out with injuries lately, but the guys have been playing well and I just hope to contribute where I can," Marino said. "It's been a tough year, a lot of ups and downs in finding that consistency." The 26-year-old has notched four goals and 23 points across 65 games while adding 79 blocked shots and a tough minus-12 rating. The Devils are in desperate need for wins as they sit with a 34-32-4 record, six points back of the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
New Jersey Devils defenseman John Marino (upper body) will not suit up for Thursday's game against the Dallas Stars. The right-shot blue-liner is sidelined with an upper-body injury, even after logging 24:58 of ice time as part of a 3-1 loss to the Rangers on Monday. A quality two-way defender, Marino has tallied four goals and 23 points across 63 games this season, skating 21:10 per night. He has tallied three assists over his last three games and has added 77 blocked shots to his resume this season. The Devils also announced that fellow defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler remains out with a concussion after he was elbowed in the head by Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe on Monday. Rempe received a four-game suspension for the illegal hit.
New Jersey Devils defenseman John Marino is battling an illness and has been ruled out of Tuesday's contest against Montreal. Kevin Bahl is set to rejoin the lineup for the action. Marino has only recently returned from an upper-body injury and will miss his 18th game of the season. Health issues have made it a stop-start season for Marino, but the 25-year-old has impressed with his very effective play when healthy and boasts a plus-18 rating through 39 games with 11 points, 47 shots, 33 hits and 51 blocks.
