Sammy Blais News
St. Louis Blues left wing Sammy Blais will be back in the lineup for Wednesday's matchup against Arizona. The 27-year-old was a healthy scratch on Sunday versus Anaheim. Blais has seen his minutes drop as the season has progressed, and he will need to respond with a strong performance on Wednesday if he wants to avoid further visits to the press box. In 16 games, Blais has tallied five points (one goal, four assists), with two of the points coming in the first three games of the season. He's slated to team up with Oskar Sundqvist and Nikita Alexandrov on the fourth line.
St. Louis Blues winger Sammy Blais continued to impress against the Blackhawks on Thursday, extending his point streak to six games with an assist in a 5-3 win. The 26-year-old set up Jordan Kyrou in the third period for the eventual game-winning goal. Entering Thursday's action, Blais was also on a three-game multi-point streak. He's tallied eight goals and 18 points in total with 99 hits in 24 games for the Blues since returning from New York in the Vladimir Tarasenko trade.
New York Rangers winger Sammy Blais wasn't able to complete the team's preseason finale on Saturday against the Islanders, but it appears that he isn't seriously hurt. Head coach Gerard Gallant has said that Blais should be fine for the team's season opener, which comes on Tuesday against Tampa Bay. Blais is looking to bounce back from an ACL tear in 2022-23. The injury limited him to just 14 games last season. The Rangers even had him on the top line at the start of the preseason, but he skated on the fourth line on Saturday and is set to stay there for the start of the regular season. This obviously makes him irrelevant in fantasy hockey, but that could change over the course of the season.
New York Rangers winger Sammy Blais (lower body) won't be available for Thursday's clash with Dallas. The 25-year-old made his team debut in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Washington and got hurt straight away. He played less than 11 minutes but had a pretty busy night with three hits, two blocks and six penalty minutes. Former first-round pick Julien Gauthier is set to take his spot in the lineup. Meanwhile, Nils Lundkvist will replace Jarred Tinordi in defense and Igor Shesterkin will get his first taste of action between the pipes after sitting out Wednesday's loss.
