Adolis García News
Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (forearm), who was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels due to a right-forearm injury that he suffered during a collision with Marcus Semien on Saturday, could be available for Tuesday's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies after tests didn't show any structural damage in his arm. The Rangers have a scheduled off day on Monday, which is great news for the 31-year-old slugger. Like many of the Texas hitters, Garcia has struggled in May, batting .188 (13-for-69) with three home runs, 10 RBI and 24 strikeouts in 74 plate appearances over 17 games. However, fantasy managers will need to return Garcia to their starting lineups if he's back in the fold on Tuesday. In 175 total at-bats in 2024, he's hitting .251/.297/.491 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, four stolen bases and 24 runs scored for the reigning champs.
Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia (forearm) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The 31-year-old slugger is dealing with a forearm issue after colliding with teammate Marcus Semien during Saturday's game. The team plans to have Garcia undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the issue. In the meantime, Robbie Grossman will take his place in the lineup during Sunday's game. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on his status.
Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia launched his eleventh home run of the season in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Angels. Angels starter Patrick Sandoval had held Garcia and the Rangers in check until the sixth inning when the 31-year-old took the southpaw deep to knot the score at 1-1. It was the 2x All-Star's third home run in his last four games, but despite the power surge, he's having a rough May, slashing just .188/.216/.348 during the month. On the season, the powerful righty has a .251-11-35-24-4 line with a .337 wOBA and 117 wRC+.

Adolis Garcia enjoyed a stellar 2023 season with the World Series champion Texas Rangers, slashing .245/.328/.508 with 39 HR and nine steals. The career-best in HR was supported by outstanding Statcast metrics: 115.1 mph max exit velocity, 16.1% rate of Brls/BBE, and 95.9 mph average airborne exit velocity, plus a surge in FB% (46.9 vs. 39.8 in 2022). It's everything fantasy managers look for to sustain a power increase, and Garcia's .523 xSLG suggests that there could be further upside. Garcia also improved his plate discipline in 2023, besting his career marks in both K% (27.7 vs. 29.1 career) and BB% (10.3 vs. 7.1) with corresponding improvements in SwStr% (14.4 vs. 16.1) and chase rate (33 vs. 37.6). The only negative was the nine steals after Garcia swiped 25 in 2022, and he lost a step per Statcast Sprint Speed (27.3 ft./sec vs. 28 in 2022). His 90% success rate indicates he should still swipe a few bags, however. Projected to hit third in the potent Texas lineup, Garcia delivers value at his current ADP of 44.97.
