Benjamin St-Juste News
Washington Commanders cornerback Benjamin St-Juste faces the high-volume passing attack of the Miami Dolphins in Week 13 in what should be a good IDP matchup. While the Dolphins only rank No. 16 for pass attempts per game, they complete the vast majority of the passes they attempt, leading the team to rank No. 10 in passes completed per game. Their successful passing attack makes opposing defensive backs busy. Last week, Jets' cornerback D.J. Reed made 10 tackles and one interception against the Dolphins, scoring 30.5 points in the IDP Invitational scoring system. In each of the Dolphins' past three games, the opposing defense produced at least one IDP CB who scored 20 or more fantasy points. St-Juste is a streamer in Week 13.
Washington Commanders first-round rookie cornerback Emmanuel Forbes will be a starting outside corner opposite Kendall Fuller in 2023. Benjamin St-Juste becomes an option for the slot after he opened the year there in 2022 before William Jackson's struggles forced him to move outside. St-Juste now feels comfortable in either spot, and his size gives coaches a matchup plan against big receivers and tight ends. However, second-round rookie safety Quan Martin was drafted specifically for the slot role, and he has "incredible flexibility" because of his ability to play closer to the line of scrimmage. Washington could use plenty of three-safety looks in 2023 like they did each of the past two seasons.
Washington Commanders cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, who was selected in the third round last year, has worked mostly in the slot in the nickel package. He stands at 6-foot-3, but he plays with good footwork, which allows him to handle slot duties against smaller, quicker wide receivers. St-Juste looked good this offseason going against impressive rookie receiver Jahan Dotson, and St-Juste uses his length well. Before he dealt with injuries, specifically concussions, he was playing a lot in his rookie season. The 24-year-old finished with 26 tackles (20 solo) and three passes defensed in nine games (three starts) in 2021, but if he can stay healthy this year, Washington's secondary will be in much better shape.
