Jalin Hyatt News
New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has likely dropped to No. 3 on the depth chart after the team spent a first-round pick on Malik Nabers, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Duggan notes that Nabers already has the inside path to being New York's No. 1 receiver and Darius Slayton will likely start opposite him. With that said, there could be an opportunity for Hyatt to surpass Slayton on the depth chart. "The plan should be for Hyatt to take on a bigger role this season and eventually replace Slayton," writes Duggan. Such a plan would put Hyatt on the radar in deeper dynasty leagues, but he can be avoided in most redraft formats.
New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt didn't have a memorable rookie campaign. He finished his inaugural year with only 23 catches for 373 yards. He also failed to find the end zone. However, John Fennelly of Giants Wire believes there's reason for fantasy managers to be optimistic for various reasons. Hyatt led the team with 16.2 yards per catch. He also had no issues finding the field, appearing in 557 of the snaps on offense, the third-most out of the receiving corps behind Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton. That said, it's too early to predict Hyatt's outlook heading into next season, at least until most of the offseason activities have concluded. Yet, the 2023 No. 73 overall pick is worth adding to any dynasty roster, and his fantasy ceiling could rise even more if the Giants get stability at the quarterback position.
New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (hamstring) exited during the first half of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. At the time of his departure, he had caught one of two targets for just five yards. It was a somewhat underwhelming campaign for the rookie as he failed to emerge as a top pass-catching option. He ultimately finishes the season with 23 catches, 373 receiving yards, and zero receiving touchdowns. New York will surely add reinforcements at wide receiver this offseason, creating a lack of clarity around Hyatt's role heading into 2024.
